T-section use as a stiffener where the sten is attached to element

 Hi  Bently specialist

I found there is a function when define the section group, there is option "use as a stiffener where the sten is attached to element".How this section will be code check, where I can detailed manual?

  • Hi I am post graduate student, I am using SACS-FAST interface for Offshore wind turbine supported by monopile foundation, I have few questions

    1. SACS-FAST coupled analysis I am getting only wave plots, wave charts and output files. I want foundation plots that is p-y curve and t-z curve and q-z curve when using pile foundation.

    2. In Overturning moment plot  Y-Dynamic initial stage curve give more oscillation and it getting damped the it reaches static.

whether this overturning moment due to wave only or total moment due to aerodynamic and hydro dynamic?

    3.  From above question why it gets damped? because  wave and wind acting continuously then how?

    4. For getting clear idea what I  have do? that is  whom to contact?

    5. when I am using different wave time period, I am getting nearly same values why? because force in inversely proportion to wave time period,   we have  get overturning moment different more for less time right?

I am expecting your reply as soon as possible sir, because I have to  progress my project after getting clear idea.

                                                                       Thanking you

  • When the "use as a stiffener where the stem is attached to element" is selected, the section will be treated as if it has a web for an I-section instead of a T-section because the end of the stem will be restrained by the other element. This will modify web slenderness checks and shear stresses for the element. Note that this is only applicable if the t-section is modeled as a beam element. This has no effect on plate stiffeners specified on the plate group definition or for stiffened box or stiffened cylinder stiffener sections.
