Dear All,
I am doing tow analysis in SACS by going through 'Learn Server' videos. I am not sure 'What center of motion in TWOPT command line dictates?. Is it the difference in COG between structure and barge?. I am aware that CENTER OF MOTION in SACS are defined in Global coordinates but unsure about the value. Please find below attached the picture of CARGO over the ship, which I am trying to analyze. Any addition would be highly appreciated. Thanks
Dear Ahmed,Center of Motion / Center of Rotation is the point about which the barge rolls/pitches/yaws. Usually, it will be considered at the water-line elevation at the plan-geometric center of the barge. In SACS, we need to provide the co-ordinate of the Center of Motion / Rotation with respect to the SACS origin. (It depends on where the structure is positioned on the barge)Thanks and Regards,
SWARUP Selvaraj.
Thanks Selvaraj for your response. Just to clarify further.Does my structure SINGLE point need to be at SACS origin (0,0,0) ?? and then I can specify barge distance from SACS origin. Is this distance calculated from structure COG in SACS to barge to COR? . Please refer link below for the sketch for my case. Appreciate your elaboration on this.
