Hello,
I'm performing a time-domain simulation of a moored barge with an item (structural) onboard.
I performed a time-domain calculation (TDOM), from which I get motions and mooring forces (via PRCPOST).
I would like to obtain "INTERNAL" element forces (axial & shear forces and moments, and stresses in the time-domain) for the structural elements I defined, during the time-domain simulation: is this data yet available just after TDOM in PRCPOST, or should I perform some other "STRUCTURAL" calculation steps?
Could someone point me to an example (in the moses sample library) in which a time-domain structural stress analysis was performed?
At the moment I tried to get element forces via the following command just after TDOM, but I get zero values (I suspect the results are the EXTERNAL applied forces and not the "INTERNAL" element forces)
PRCPOST ELMFORCE C2S1 plot 1 2 3 4 -rax 5 6 7 -no endend
Thanks in advance
Doug
Hi Doug,
Please see the rect test files in the following directory.
C:\Program Files\Bentley\Engineering\MOSES CONNECT Edition V12\hdesk\runs\tests\timdom
This is a time domain analysis and includes a structural analysis. MOSES now includes MOSES Postvue. You can use Postvue to see axial and sher forces and moments.
I hope this helps.
