I have imported some surfaces (lofted) from Autocad, however, there are a lot of bumps and lumps on these surfaces once imported, tried adjusting the control points on some of these surfaces but doesn't seem to help.
Does anyone have any idea how to avoid the lofted surfaces becoming so bumpy and lines going everywhere during the process out there?
Thanks!
Hi Arthur - I just replied to your other post also. You need to remember that MAXSURF is 100% focused on Naval Architecture, but AutoCAD is a generic modeler. If you want a nice fair hull form, then you're really going to struggle with this surface layout.
For this hull section, I would probably use a bottom surface, side surface and a bilge radius. 3 surfaces instead of 30.
If you have offsets or a set of curves to loft through, then I would recommend using MAXSURF to do that. Take a look at some of the tools we have for reverse engineering designs here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaRn0XEC2d8&list=PLX3HK9S8pbdicoQe_xDr24oNOxiZTNhiLJames
