Hi im new to multiframe and im wondering if its possible to apply an offset load to generate a moment.
The above image is a basic example of what im trying to achieve.
ive been reading about the master/slave and joint linking to create a rigid body but this doesnt seem to work unless theres members physically drawn between the offset node and the frame.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Ross
Hi Ross,
Can you apply a moment to your structure, rather than forces at a distance? Where are the forces being applied to your structure?
Yes - all of your nodes need to be connected to a single body. As you point out, you could use a "dummy" member to link the structure to your node. and then use joint linking to ensure that the load and structure remain connected. Or you could use a member section with very stiff properties.
I would have thought applying a moment was the easiest solution.
Let me know what works for you

James
