Hi Bentley.I have a question about CoG shift in MOSES. is there a Command or method to do CoG Shift Variation during Lifting/Lowering/Upending Analysis in MOSES, without modify the SACS converted Model. Many Thanks,Argo
Hi Argo,
I am not going to answer the question directly. I always modify the SACS converted MODEL for lift/lower/upend/launch analysis. The SACS files that are sent to me have load cases (LOADCN) that are for in-place analysis. When I turn those loads off I am modifying the model. I am already modifying the converted model so modifying to change the COG is the next step.
MOSES will always find the COG by where the weights are defined.
Most SACS files have load cases. Those are controlled in the MOSES model via the load factors. I use the search "smargin" to find them quickly. The practice is to turn off one of these loads so that MOSES a load of equal weight can be defined via the "&weight -total" command.
I hope this helps.
