HOW TO GENERATE SEA STATE RAO IN MOSES?

Dear Georgina,

Kindly advise how to generate sea state RAO in MOSES.

Parents
  • Good afternoon,

I am not sure I understand your question. Please rephrase what you are trying to do. Are you trying to calculate the RAOs for a given sea state?

  • Dear Spiro,

I'm trying to import data from MOSES into Orcaflex. In Orcaflex there is requirement for sea state RAOs (as defined below)

"Sea state RAOs define the modification of the sea around the vessel as a result of the diffraction and radiation of waves by the vessel body. The disturbance effects of a vessel (or a multibody group of vessels) are specified on the sea state RAOs page of the vessel type data form, in a table of velocity potential disturbance RAOs. The sea state RAO data are velocity potential disturbance RAOs, from which OrcaFlex can calculate the sea surface elevation, fluid velocity and acceleration in the disturbed sea state. Essentially they define the amplitude scaling and phase shift of the velocity potential of the disturbed wave components, relative to the incoming undisturbed wave components, as a function of position and wave direction relative to the vessel and of wave period"

please go through below link for more explanation from Orcaflex help page. (Webhelp)
