Q: I am comparing the unity check (UC) between MOSES Classic and MOSES Postvue.  I am concentrating on the equations in API section 3.3.3 Axial Tension and Hydrostatic Pressure and 3.3.4 Axial Compression and Hydrostatic pressure.  Why are the UC not in agreement?

A: Please see section 3.3.5 Safety Factors.  The table indicates the safety factors dependent on the design condition. MOSES POSTVUE uses option 1 and MOSES Classic uses option2.
