Question:
How SACS calculate hydrodynamic coefficients when user provides CDM/MGROV/GRPOV inputs?
Answer:
Case1: CDM line
- calculates the base value for CD/CM.
- If Wake Encounter is used, calculates the values of CD/CM based on roughness.
Case2: MGROV line:
- If the CDM line is absent: provides the actual values of CD/CM.
- If CDM & MGROV both are present, then MGROV will override the CDM values. When Wake Encounter is added in CDM line, then hydrodynamic coefficients are calculated by CDM line, and the calculated values are factored by corresponding MGROV inputs.
Case3: GRPOV line:
- If column 77 is left empty, CD/CM provided in CDM or MGROV line will override only smooth members.
- If F is entered on column 77 of the GRPOV line, the CD/CM will be multiplied by the values provided.
