    List tool in Precede

    Product(s): SACS
    Version(s): All
    Area: Precede (psvdb)

    Problem

How do I use joint/ element/ group/ property/ load list in Precede Postvue results model? Is there a file that I need to generate and include in the postvue database folder (psvdb)?

    Solution

    1. In Precede (psvdb) go to MISC tab > Define List as shown below:

    2. Select the List type. In your case right now you want to make a list for members, so select 'Member'.

    3.  Next, select the element from the 'Defined Element' section, or select from model. All selected elements will appear in the 'Element List'. Click on the 'Apply' button.
You will get to see the green status telling you that 'member selection list has been updated'.

    4. From the Define List window above, you can 'Output Lists to Editor' --> blue box and you will get this:

    5. Click on OK to close the window.

    6. Open the Report Generation

    7. In Report Selection window, after selecting the Report Type > Element selection: Table > Element List > You will see all the elements in the list appear in the 'Selected Elements' section > Apply

    8. Clicking on Apply will output a list file as below:

    Notes:

The list works only in psvdb. It cannot be saved and transferred between Precede - Postvue. If you close Precede and open the psvdb again, the list will be lost.
