Solution

There are quite a few different ways to generate stringers.

Use the Stringers | Add Stringer on Contour command. Select a Waterline (or multiple Waterlines) first so it knows which contours you are adding them on.

Or you can use generate stringers and create a number of stringers in your model, and indicate the start and end positions.
