How to troubleshoot the error "***ERROR - NO RETAINED DOFS SELECTED"?

Solution

You need to set modal degrees of freedom when running a Dynpac analysis. You can do this by changing the "fixity" for a joint degree of freedom to '2'. See section 2.1 of the Dynpac manual for more details.
