When selecting the B31.3-2014 material properties in AutoPIPE I get low temperature warnings at -420 F for using A312-TP304 stainless steel pipe material. The B31.3 code lists a minimum temperature for A312-TP304 as -425 F so I should not be getting this warning.
On further investigation I found that the 304 material libraries in AutoPIPE were the same for B31.3-2004 through B31.3-2012. All tables seem to have matching temperatures and coefficients of thermal expansion with the minimum temperatures corresponding to the code minimum of -425 F. The new B31.3-2014 material library has a 304 minimum temperature of -325 F and also has different coefficients of thermal expansion.
Can anyone at Bentely comment on what drove the change in the material library for B31.3-2014?
