NTL File - version number

We use the NTL feature to input files to AutoPIPE.

The JOB card contains two fields that relate to the version of AutoPIPE being used:

VERNO   Batch NTL number

PROGV   Program version number

VERNO

The help file doesn't contain much guidance on what value to enter for VERNO. From a few different posts online, and some previous exports, I have been able to get the following:

      V8.5     VERNO = 1.0

Default (JOB card missing) VERNO = 1.2

      V09.02.02.09     VERNO = 1.5

      V09.03.02.05     VERNO = 1.6

      V09.04.00.19     VERNO = 1.7

      V09.05.00.21     VERNO = 2.0

      V09.06.01.10     VERNO = 2.0

      V11.04.00.10     VERNO = 2.3

Are these correct?

Do you have a full list of VERNO values?

I presume that the VERNO should relate to the version of command card used to write the NTL file.

PROGV

Is the PROGV the version of AutoPIPE used to create the command cards, or the version that you are currently using?

  • Mike,

thanks for the Wiki page giving the NTL VERNO values. Can you confirm two things:

    1. Do we set the VERNO to the version of command card that was used to create/write the NTL file?

    2. Do we set the PROGV to the version of AutoPIPE used to create the command cards?

  • Hello  Ross,

    To answer your questions

    1. Do we set the VERNO to the version of command card that was used to create/write the NTL file?

    Answer:

When creating the NTL file you opened AutoPIPE help in order to understand the NTL card format. Using the WIKI page above, cross reference the version of AutoPIPE to the version of NTL file format and enter this as your VERNO for your NTL file.

If you are creating your own NTL files, be sure not to use command cards from multiple versions of the program (ex. Bend card from v09.06.01.11 and PIPE card from v12.02.00.14). Always, enter data in your custom NTL file based on command cards from a single version of AutoPIPE.

    2. Do we set the PROGV to the version of AutoPIPE used to create the command cards?

    Answer:

Based on the answer above, enter the AutoPIPE version number used to reference the Batch Command cards (ex. 12.02.00.14).

Note, the PROGV can be left blank on the JOB card, but the JOB card must have a valid VERNO.
