I've been trying to add a specialty material to the AP library that I will need for multiple jobs to come, so adding the material properties for each temp, model, etc. is not ideal. Using the guide located here, I've modified the material specification as seen below:
After adding the new material and compiling the new library, AP is giving the following error when I select the new material:
When I view the specification library, I'm finding the specification file ends at the second row of the new material and no allowables are listed:
Any idea what is going on? Did I miss a step when inputting the new material?
AP Version 11.04.00.10
Hello Grant,
Making modifications to the material library is easy and difficult at the same time. One extra space, one wrong character, anything not 100% in the correct spot can render the library useless and untrustworthy.
I would suggest the following:
Start over with a fresh copy of the SRC file used as a base for the new material library. Save that new file immediately as a different name. Assuming you have multiple material added, then copy one new material at a time into the new library. compile it and see if it works. if it does not work then you know there is a problem in that section.
Highly suggest to use an application like Notepad++ or UltraEdit when making these modifications. Ensure that you are set to see all characters including spaces, tabs, and returns. Also change to overwrite mode, Insert model will get you into trouble, Finally recall from the library documents here, to set an asterisk as the 1st character of each of the last entries in all tables. Otherwise, this will cause an issue. See above documents for suggested steps when modifying a library file.
