Is there a way to force Seismic Anchor Movement (SAM) analysis to keep gaps?

Our team is interested in a Seismic Anchor Movement (SAM) analysis that does not close all gaps. Is it possible to retain gaps with a setting or work around?

  • Hello Daniel,

Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Search Tab> enter "Seismic Anchor Movement Analysis" (include the quotes), press List Topics button, double click on the selected topic from the list provided to see more information.

"Although a seismic anchor movement analysis is used to determine the response of the structure to a dynamic loading, a Linear Static Analysis is carried out through the Static Analysis dialog."

See limitations on performing a Linear Static Analysis.
