Different support loads if connected to ground or modelled beams

Hi,

I have noticed significant difference between support loads for the same point and the same load case, but once with modelled beams and once without.
The values are as follow:
1)modelled beams:

2)without beams. support connected to "ground"

I am trying to undestand if those values are correct. Modelling beams have really such impact like this? Someone could explain this ? or indicate any mistakes i have done ?

Thank you in advance ;)

  • Good day to you Krystian,

Upon further investigation I agree with your previous observations that output results are different when attaching pipe supports to a beam system. This appears to be correct as the beam system is not truly rigid. Therefore a portion of the weight is being supported by the piping system which shows up in the output report GR load case.
