When analyzing using a flexible joint, AutoPIPE derives the displacement values for the two points to which the joint is applied in the analysis results.Using the difference between the two values of the resulting displacement values, derive the deformation value of the flexible joint and inquire whether it is correct to use the deformation value when selecting the expansion joint specification.
Good day to you Woo Jong Kwan,
Correct, take the delta difference between the 2 node point to know who much the joint has deflected under that load case. Thins to send to the flexible joint manufacture.
1. Send an excel spreedsheet detailing the movement of the expansion joint for each operating condition and clear calculation indicating Flexible joint movement across end points.
2. Copy of Model Input listing "FLEXIBLE JOINT DATA LISTING" sub-report
or screen shot of each flexible joint dialog. Also include a ink to WIKI here that explains the dialog.
Note, that these values are based on Local coordinates. Therefore the manufacture will need to understand local coordinates in your AutoPIPE model.
Hope that this helps answer your question.
