Limited space in THL dialogue box for Transient analysis

I have a relatively large file with many elbows and I am doing a transient analysis. There is only space for 12 segments in the transient THL dialogue box. How do I include more segments in the analysis?

  • Greetings,

After creating a transient for the first 12 lines, press the OK button on the dialog. This action will generate the time history load file and time history profiles. Next manually open the load file using any text editor program (i.e. NotePad++, Ultra Edit, Word, etc..) and continue adding lines as needed. However pay special attention to maintaining column alignment and entering the correct values using units already established by the file.

Also, suggest to see reviewing AutoPIPE's help section:
Help > Contents> Search Tab> enter "Creating an ASCII Time History Load File (THL)" (include the quotes), press List Topics button, double click on the selected topic from the list provided to see more information.

And, searching for help on "Creating an ASCII Time History (THP) File".

These help information on the THL will aid in creating almost an unlimited length file. However, be fore warned that you should not reload the file in the Fluid transient dialog again as it will overwrite any modifications you may have made.  Another words, be mindful of what commands you use and their precautions.
