Combination Order

Greetings,

I am trying to create new combinations based on old combinations. Is there a way to shift the order (i.e., move the new combinations up)? For example, we have Hoop, Sustained, Expansion, Tresca but we want to add Rest-Exp in between the last two without deleting and re-adding Tresca. I know this was not possible a few years ago.

 Thanks!

  • Greetings Taylor,

Very interesting request. I would ask how would you see this tool acting or features of this enhancement? Please provide details on your vision.

    How to move combinations?

Arrange by category, arrange alphabetical in category, alphabetize by combination name only, other?

Think about this both on a micro level and macro level, another words, if only using a handful of combinations or 100's of combinations.

Finally, this is a good candidate to be posted to the IDEAS page here, please post it for consideration by all of AutoPIPE users and Bentley development.

  • Mike,

In the screenshot below, for example, i would like to move the highlighted combinations between LC130 and LC131. Does this make sense? As far as I know, the only way to do this is to duplicate LC131 to LC148 and then delete them.

On a side note, I know you can copy the names this grid to Excel but can you copy them from Excel and paste them back to AutoPIPE? I have not been able to do this.

    Thanks,

    Taylor

  • Greetings,

Thank you for logging this on the IDEAS page, as you can see the project manager agrees that this would be useful. An enhancement has been logged and the development team will add this into a future version of the program.

At this time there is no easy way, only workaround is as you mentioned.
