I get an error when mapping segment name to PIPELINE-REFERENCE in PCF translator

Question

I'm importing PCF files generated in Plant 3D, and trying to associate the line number with the segment. 
 I first tried to add a custom attribute of MISC-SPEC1 to the PCF file using Plant 3D's iso.atr ("MISC-SPEC1 LDT.PipeTag"). I believe this doesn't work because custom attributes are added to the PCF header, not to the segment. 
 Next I updated the pcfin.map file to associate LINENUMBER to PIPELINE-REFERENCE using a wiki entry . This works properly, but the translator no longer maps materials correctly. I get an error on every single component:

Greetings David, 
 From the screen shot above, I agree the PCF translator could not automatically assign. Instead the application is requesting you to provide a mapping. In situations like this, suggest to use a "material" designation (ex. CS, IC, etc..) appose to selecting a "specific" material (ex.A105, A333-B, etc.). Then enable the check box for "use this material for all remaining components". Once the file is opened in AutoPIPE you can easily select the correct material and mass distribute it using the pipe properties tab on the Input grids.

 This is a typical issue with programs that do not produce a good PCF file. Suggest that you contact the Plant 3D tsg support department and work with them to generate a better PCF file before importing into AutoPIPE.
