How can you account for movements within pipe-to-fitting thread engagement? Movements in the threading can occur axially and rotationally at varying load applications.
Autopipe does not seem to have an input for fittings or connections that accounts for thread engagement behavior.
Greetings Nicholas,
Are you talking about the forces and moments applied to the piping as threaded parts are being assembled?
It would be assumed that the pipe is plum / straight and proper pipe fitting techniques are used when assembling threaded pipe fittings. One would also assume that the pipe was not under any load due to thread engagement.
However if you feel that the thread engagement is more in some places and less in others thus to cause a load on the piping system, then you can use AutoPIPE's Cut short command to address any adjustment in length (shorter / longer).
