Lift off guide support

Hi;

I have two questions that

1-  When the Code edition Asme B31.3 2014 and later, I will use the "Remove Lift-off Supports" option in the analysis set and re-run the calculation. Then I will re-check the support loads and analysis results Then I will consider the worst scenario for loads and stresses by comparing the unclicked "Remove Lift-off Supports" option.

In this case, must I remove the lift-off supports manually and re-run the calculation? Software is already removing the lift-off supports.

2- If the lift-off guide support has been restrained vertically such as U type bolt and it allows only axial movement of pipe, Can I neglect the lift-off support warning?

    Question:

    Must I remove the lift-off supports manually and re-run the calculation?

    Answer:

    Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
    Help > Contents> Search Tab> enter "Remove Lift-off Supports" (include the quotes), press List Topics button, double click on the selected topic from the list provided to see more information.

    As mentioned in help, when this options is checked ON, the program runs the analysis 2x as needed, removes supports that fail the check (lift-off occurs), and results are updated.

    Question:

    Can I neglect the lift-off support warning?

    Answer:

    Please see WIKI here for details about lift off and options available to handle them.
