I have a reducer installed in a pipe run. when I try to insert a reducer, pipe identifier option is disabled. How can i specify pipe on the other side of reducer?

Yes, you are correct that under certain conditions the pipe identifier will be non-selectable. Regardless, I have found it to be much easier to continue modeling and then at some point use the techniques mentioned here to update the PipeID. 

I find this to have more control over the pipe properties on the reducer itself.
