Model flipping / mirroring

I have two wings in a building with piping that is the same form one to the other, but mirrored.  Is there a way to copy and mirror an existing model?

  • Greetings Mark,

As a new user of AutoPIPE please take a moment to review all of the information listed here.

In this case, please review the How do I... Edit topics, Scale hyperlink.

This will show you how you can use the scale command to mirror piping.

The suggested workflow; model 1/2 the piping systems, select piping to be mirrored, copy piping, paste to the correct location. select the paste piping, and use scale command to mirror the piping. Done!!!

Yes, there are several ways to copy and mirror an existing model. One approach would be to use a mirroring tool or feature within the software program being used to create the model. Another option could be to manually duplicate the existing model, flip it horizontally or vertically, and then align it with the original. Both methods would require careful attention to detail to ensure that the mirrored copy is accurate and aligned properly with the original model.

  • Abdul's comments above are correct.
