Hi Marku,
Quick question; is this release of AutoPIPE compatible with Windows 7? If not, for example when there's a limited compatibility, can you please mention the limitations (e.g. if it only works on W7 Professional or .. ?)?
Kind regards,
Hubert
Hubert,
When you install 9.3.0.8, the readme_autopipe.htm file contains the following information:
Operating System:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 or later OR
Microsoft Windows Vista Business or higher
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional or higher
These are the same as in version 9.2.1.7 and later
To avoid potential problems, you may need to have the following done before starting AutoPIPE:
1. Install latest graphics driver from Windows Update or manufacturer’s web site
2. Install latest IEG security
3. Activate your AutoPIPE license if not done already (using License Management Tool). You can start this using Start/All Program/Bentley AutoPIPE V8i SELECT Series 2/License Management Tool
If you have any problems please log a support service ticket at:

Hi Karim,
I am trying to do a test install of the latest autopipe and have some problems.
OS = XP pro x64 edition
Graphics drivers updated to lates from Nvidia
License is activated in the management tool.
When I run the installer I get an error that MDAC 2.6 SP2 cannot be installed on my system, and a list of compatible systems (all now obselete OS's), after which the installer quits. MDAC 2.6 cannot be installed on XP of any flavour according to microsoft so I don't understand why autopipe is trying to install it. I have MDAC 2.8 SP2 installed.
I already have Staad.pro selectseries 2 installed so presume that updated the licensing system (is it possible to find out?), I have tried to run the latest IEG licensing from the download site (selecting a modify or repair install) and it fails due to a "network error" reading the .msi file (the file is on a local hard disk).
Is this a known problem? is XP x64 supported? Do I need to create a service ticket?
Thanks
Jim
Jim,
Windows XP 64 bit is not supported in v9.3, but Windows 7 64 bit and Windows Vista 64 bit are supported. I believe you may be able to make it install on XP 64 bit, but some features like online tutorial may not work on it. You may log a service ticket if you wish.
Hi guys,
I just installed the newest AutoPIPE version on my new workstation which runs on W7 Pro.
After I start up AutoPIPE, it will only run in demo mode, not in the version we're registered for (standard version). It always crashes. This doesnt happen when I run it in demo mode.
Anyone has an idea whats going wrong? Or how this can be solved?
Ive already tried re-installing AutoPIPE again, and the license activation tool says the key is verified ... whats wrong?
Problem solved, never mind!
Hello,
I am glad your problem is resolved. I am not sure how you did that. We did have a report of similar issue on some Windows 64 bit machines and the following can help resolve it:
If you have a crash when starting AutoPIPE on a Windows 64 bit operating system (Win7 or Vista), please follow the following steps to resolve it or help us diagnose it:
1. Close all applications.
2. Open a command prompt. (In vista or Win7 run command prompt as administrator)
A. In MS DOS Window Type:
SET MS_LMDEBUGLOGLEVEL=IEGLOGGER=1;FATAL=1;ERROR=1;WARNING=1;INFO=1;DEBUG=1;TRACE=1;
B. Go to the folder “c:\Program Files (x86)\Common files\Bentley Shared\IEG\IEGLCS”
C. Once in the folder, type “BAppMon.exe”.
D. Go to the folder “c:\Bentley\AutoPIPE V8i SELECTSeries2” and press <ENTER>
E. Once in the folder, type “autopipe” and press <ENTER>
7. The log will be displayed in the BAppMon window. [Right click on the BAppMon icon at the task pane and the open it].
8. A report will be generated from BAppMon. Keep the report open till after next step.
9. Now close AutoPIPE and run it normally from Start menu.
The crash most likely will not happen again. If it does, please send the report from BAppMon to technical support by logging a support service ticket online at “http://appsnet.bentley.com/srmanager/addcall.aspx”
