Thrust/Anchor Block

Dear,

Can anyone suggest how a Thrust block is modeled in Autopipe??

I have approached for the same like as in CAESAR II i.e. changing property of the soil near anchor/thrust blocks but what is the correct method to model a thrust block in AutoPipe?

Please let me know as soon as possible.

Thanks and Regards,

S. Jain

  • Hello Saurabh,

A thrust block is usually a large  block of concrete placed where the vertical pipe near the A/G -U/G interface bends to run horizontal underground (essentially an anchor point).

The unknown question is how is your piping connected to the trust block: to slide on top of the block, to slide on the vertical face of the block, or rigidly connected to the block. Add additional supports to the piping to correctly model the piping connection or restricted movement relative to the thrust block.
