Bend forces in Autopipe

Dear All,

I am a University student, working with Autopipe for one of our project. I was asked one question during the project review that how does Autopipe calculates the bend forces (as we do not define the velocity or flow in the pipeline) ??

What is the velocity consideration for other calculation? is that possible to define velocity or flow?

Can someone please explain?

    Bentley AutoPIPE is a stand-alone computer aided engineering (CAE) program for calculation of piping stresses, flange analysis, pipe support design, and equipment nozzle loading analysis under static and dynamic loading conditions.

    Dynamic analysis capabilities include mode shapes and natural frequencies, response spectra, phased harmonic load analysis, time history dynamic analysis and force spectra analysis
