Greetings,
I'm trying to model vessel on lug supports in autopipe. My questions are,
1-How can i model lug supports (will connect beams afterwards) can transfer moments due to seismic loads?2-If i use anchor points as mentioned in modelling vessel on lug support wiki, how can i use that anchor loads in staad pro?Pls find attached below.I could not manage to transfer moments due to seismic loads on these supports. Thanks in advancevessel-staticseismic-supports.rar
Hello Kazim,
I believe that you are referring to WIKI here:
10. How to model a vertical vessel held in place by 4 supports in AutoPIPE?
Question:
How can i model lug supports (will connect beams afterwards) can transfer moments due to seismic loads?
Answer:
From your attached model, you are on step #10 of the WIKI page above. You appear to have chosen a variation of option #2. See AutoPIPE help for details about how a Static Seismic load-case would be applied to a piping system.
Therefore, the seismic load case would be applied to both the piping and beam members accordingly.
If i use anchor points as mentioned in modelling vessel on lug support wiki, how can i use that anchor loads in staad pro?
When you transfer the loads from AutoPIPE to STAAD the first time and use them like any other support on the structure. You can then transfer the structure from STAAD into AutoPIPE. After refining the supports and piping, send an new set of updated pipe loads back to STAAD.
Suggest the following:
AutoPIPE - OpenPlant to AutoPIPE to STAAD
AutoPIPE - ProStructures to STAAD to AutoPIPE
AutoPIPE - STAAD to AutoPIPE
