Hi,
In case of heat exchanger design, the shell length that I enter in the dialogue box is not actually used for external pressure design of the shell. It is usually 11mm less that the entered value. Further, in case of 3d and 2d representation screens, the value of shell length entered seems to include Flange as well. This is an anomaly as it is unclear what shell length will be considered for design.It also affects placement of nozzle on the shell side. Pl help with a detailed explanation of how to define the length of the shell in all combination of heat exchangers.
