Problem:
How can I use AutoPIPE Stress ISO, as it reverts to demo mode after June 24, 2014 and the following is shown in License Management Tool (LMT)?
Status = Offline- day(s) until disabled
Status = Disabled
Solution:
AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.02.xx and higher:
Stress Isometric feature is automatically enabled in AutoPIPE Advanced and Nuclear editions only; Standard version will have this feature disabled.. No additional StressISO add-on License is required.
To avoid the potential of being charged for overusage of OpenPLANT Isometrics Manager, DO NOT open / run the Bentley.Isometrics.App.exe file as shown below:
(installed by default in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\OpenPlantIsometricsManager V8i\OpenPlantIsometricsManager directory).
Instead, run OpenPlant Isometrics from within AutoPIPE by selecting File > Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, shown below:
AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.01.xx and lower:
Starting Jun 24, 2014, Bentley can no longer legally ship Isogen to be installed with newer versions of AutoPIPE. Therefore AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.00.19 and higher no longer installs ISOGEN module. If a previous version was installed (example, AutoPIPE V8i 09.05.xx.xx), then the ISOGEN module is installed. Only if the ISOGEN module is installed and have a valid AutoPIPE Stress ISO add on license can an Stress ISO be created regardless version.
Example #1: assuming a valid AutoPIPE Stress ISO add-on License is available, AutoPIPE V8i 09.05.00.21 was installed but completely removed before installing AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.01.xx. A stress iso will not be created because the ISOGEN module was removed during the deletion of the AutoPIPE V8i 09.05.00.21 folder.
Example #2: assuming a valid AutoPIPE Stress ISO add-on License is available, AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.01.xx was installed on a computer that never had any other version of the program installed before. Again, a stress iso will not be created because the ISOGEN module was never installed.
Example #3: assuming a valid AutoPIPE Stress ISO add-on License is available, AutoPIPE V8i 09.05.00.21 was installed and then AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.01.xx was also installed. These applications would have been installed to different folders. A stress iso would be created because the stress iso module was installed with the previous version of the application and when using issuing the Stress ISO command in AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.01.xx, the program will generate both the PCF & STS files and pass the call to ISOGEN, if ISOGEN is not there the call fails, but in this case ISOGEN is there and the Stress ISO would have been created.
Note: As mentioned above, StressISO Add-on license was discontinued in June 2014. A grace period was enacted to all suitable time for our user to transition away from Stress ISOGEN. In June 2016, AutoPIPE's StressISO Add-on was removed from all contracts.
AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.02.xx (and higher) now has an application called OPIM (Open Plan Isometric Manager) with similar, if not better, functionality included in the core product. You can upgrade to the new version of AutoPIPE to use this new functionality with the Advance or Nuclear version without the need for a new license.
Licensing
Users must now manually check out a Stress Iso Add-on License using License Management Tool, see the following procedure:
1. Select Start> All Programs> Bentley Engineering> AutoPIPE V8i > License Management Tool (LMT)
2. After the application opens Select the License CheckOut Tab, scroll down to find AutoPIPE StressISO Add-on (shown below):
Number of Available license must be > 0
If Available Number = 0, Stress Iso will always revert to Demo Mode.
If AutoPIPE Stress Iso Add-on is not shown in the listing, Stress Iso will always revert to Demo Mode.
If Available Number > 0, Manually check out a license:
Note: before starting this, Select AutoPIPE> Help> About> write down the 8 digit number on the right side of the dialog and press OK to close:
Back inside of LMT:
a. Highlight AutoPIPE Stress Iso Add-on as shown above.
b. Press the Checkout button.
c. Enter the data needed:
i. Enter your Email address
ii. Press keyboard Tab key 5x, enter the AutoPIPE version number in the field provided.
iii. press OK button (note: only after entering all the data above can the OK button be pressed)
iv. In a moment LMT will refresh (or Press F5), and the check out license should appear in the bottom section. At this point LMT can be closed.
v. Go back to AutoPIPE, select Tools> Settings> Edition> Select Stress ISo Add-on radio button and press OK button.
vi. If everything was done correctly, AutoPIPE can be used to create a complete Stress Iso.

If the following screen appears multiple times and will not go away, set Stress Iso License to DEMO model.
Inside of AutoPIPE, select Tools> Settings> Edition> near the bottom, select radio button in front of "StressISo demo" and press OK button. Restart AutoPIPE.

The following information was presented to each company that had Stress ISO add-on license for AutoPIPE by their Account Manager:
OpenPLANT Isometric Manager (OPIM) to replace AutoPIPE StressISO Add-on leveraging ISOGEN
Bentley will release AutoPIPE v9.6.1 in Aug. 2014. This will be the first release in the AutoPIPE line that does not ship with ISOGEN for producing Stress isometrics. In place of ISOGEN, AutoPIPE will leverage OpenPlant Isometrics Manager to create Stress isometrics which will ship in AutoPIPE v9.6.2 at the end of September, 2014. OpenPlant Isometrics manager is built on a platform that has been successfully used by PlantSpace users for 15+ years. We believe strongly that AutoPIPE along with OpenPlant Isometrics Manager will provide deeper integration between design, fabrication, construction and operations for the lifecycle of piping isometrics. This more closely aligns with Bentley’s long-term business goals. Due to these facts, as of June 24th, 2014, Bentley will make the following changes to our AutoPIPE StressISO add-on offering.
What does this mean for you?
If you have purchased perpetual licenses of AutoPIPE StressISO Add-on you will be able to continue to use what you have purchased indefinitely. Hexagon will provide support for ISOGEN for 2 years past contract cancellation, and Bentley will continue our uninterrupted support of the AutoPIPE suite of products as well. Starting in June 2014, Bentley will start a transition plan for these products as follows:
SELECT Subscribers
1. As of June 24th 2014
a. Bentley will issue 1 AutoPIPE StressISO “checked out” license for each AutoPIPE StressISO license covered under your SELECT license. The SELECT coverage fee for the newly issued AutoPIPE StressISO licenses will remain unchanged.
b. AutoPIPE and ISOGEN support still available
2. After the release of AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.02, eta..Oct 2014
a. AutoPIPE v9.6.2 will be available using OPIM technology to generate StressISO’s
b. StressISO (OPIM) is included free with AutoPIPE Advanced and Nuclear editions.
3. As of June 24th 2016
a. Support for AutoPIPE with Alias ISOGEN will no longer be available
b. Support for AutoPIPE will continue along with the enhanced capabilities of OpenPlant Isometrics Manager (OPIM).

ELS, MLS and QLS Subscribers
1. As of June 24th 2014
a. Licenses of AutoPIPE StressISO will not be available on new ELS contracts.
b. For existing ELS users, we will perform a reset to restore a fixed quantity of perpetual licenses of AutoPIPE StressISO on SELECT contracts.
i. The reset calculation is based on the greater quantity of either, calculated usage or original purchases of perpetual licenses of AutoPIPE StressISO before going on ELS.
ii. The fixed quantity of “check-out-only” AutoPIPE StressISO licenses can be used in combination with the unlimited AutoPIPE licenses available for use via your ELS.
2. After the release of AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.02, eta..Oct 2014
a. AutoPIPE v09.06.02 and higher will be available using OPIM technology to generate StressISO’s
b. StressISO (OPIM) is included free with AutoPIPE Advanced and Nuclear editions.

Some Questions & Answers
What does this mean to a Standard User of AutoPIPE with StressISO?
Standard users can continue using StressISO with older versions ( 9.6.1 or older) of AutoPIPE indefinitely. After June 2016 ISOGEN support will no longer be provided by Hexagon through Bentley SELECT support. Continued support will have to be arranged between the user and Hexagon after this cut-off date.
What happens if my Standard user upgrades to 9.6.2?
To continue using StressISO they will have to up-grade to AutoPIPE Advanced or Nuclear Version v9.6.2.
How do I get the same StressISO I had previously?
The check-out ISOGEN StressISO license will work on version 9.6.1 or older versions of AutoPIPE, so it is possible to save back to 9.6.1 and run the ISOGEN StressISO.
Will the interface be the same?
There will be some differences, but as of now we do not know what they will be! We will up-date you when we see to new interface.
Is there any up-grade training available?
We will have a migration Webinar available before the end of September highlighting the differences and benefits of the new StressISO based on OPIM.
Will I have more functionality?
There will be differences some positive and some not
It will be possible to edit Iso’s before you print them, not possible previously
OPIM StressISO’s will contain Intelligent information, previously dumb!
There is no Auto Break which was possible with ISOGEN.
