Notes: if an enhancement or defect has not been added to the program, log an Service request for that enhancement. The more requests logged per an enhancement, the quicker the CAE development team will add that feature to the program.
The following enhancements and defects have already been requested:
Description:
A non-linear load combination with a user load case (U1 - U140) and an occasional load case (E1-E30 and W1-W10) is incorrectly marked as inconsistent load combination containing more than one occasional load case.
Development Project: TBD
Non-linear combinations with missing pressure case in the combination may not be flagged / reported as inconsistent combinations.
Steps to repeat:
Open the attached modelAnalyze the model and open the combinations dialog
Notice that GRT1 is marked as inconsistent, however, GRT2 and GRT3 are not marked as inconsistent.
GRT2 and GRT3 should also be marked as inconsistent because:
1. Non-linear analysis set with "Pressure before temperature" checked
2. Analysis set has Pressure extension enabled i.e. pressure case is generated
3. Use Default sequence is enabled for the analysis set
4. Combination has temperature case, but its associated pressure case is missing i.e. sequence is GR -> P2 -> T2, and combination does not have P2 in it
Avoidance: None
Corrective Action:
When intermediate pressure case is missing from a non-linear combination, the combinations should be marked as inconsistent.
Development Project: on schedule for v11 update1
Run any model with at least one hydrotest analysis set. Review the default load combinations created for that load set. Note that there exists more than just the hydrotest load combination, and those combinations do not apply the hydrotest factor to their stresses in code compliance.
In addition, hydrotest analysis sets currently do not allow other occasional loads such as wind and earthquake, but will need to investigate what combinations should be considered for hydrotest pressure and temperature to meet such conditions as required by ASME B31.3:
"(b) Test. Stresses due to test conditions are not subject to the limitations in para. 302.3.It is not necessary to consider other occasional loads, such as wind and earthquake, as occurring concurrently with test loads."
Introduce an option for users to duplicate code combinations into the non-code combinations tab, to review displacements, forces and moments, support forces of these code combinations.
For example, a user wants to see the displacements of Sus. + W1 on a pipe without having to manually create a non-code combination equivalent.
Common maximum combinations are (Sus), (Exp), (Long), and (Hoop) that are calculated based on all load cases in a model or globally. Add a feature to enable these maximums to be calculated based on only those load cases specified in an analysis set.
