Bentley PlantFLOW is compatible with:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Vista x64, Windows XP x64, Windows 7, Windows 7 x64.
This does not mean that the software cannot be run on another operating systems not specified in the readme file, but that it has not been tested/certified by the CAE development team to be installed on another OS. The user can try to install the application on any OS. However, Bentley cannot be held liable for results or provide technical support for installation on untested systems. One may consider installing the application on a Virtual machine running a supported OS.

1. Download PlantFLOW

Since PlantFLOW has been deprecated, it is no longer available for download from Bentley's Software Download site. User must submit a Bentley Case mention this WIKI and request a link to download the application. 

2. Install PlantFLOW

This new version of PlantFLOW is able to run on 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows XP, VISTA, Win 7,

Note: Bentley cannot be held responsible for results from an installation of this software on an Operating System that is not specified in the application's read-me file. Installing and all output results from Bentley PlantFLOW on these other OS is at your own risk. 

Some preliminary tests have shown that the application will install and appears to be functional on Win 8 & higher. These OS have not been fully tested and using the application on these versions of Windows is subject to the disclaimer above. 

    1. Uninstall previous version of PlantFLOW
      1. Back up your existing project files
      2. From the Control Panel> select Add or Remove Programs
      3. Select PlantFLOW
      4. Press the “Change/Remove” button.
      5. Complete the process to remove/delete the application.
      6. Delete Plant flow folder from computer hard drive.
    2. Locate the PlantFLOW file downloaded, unzip to a folder.
    3. Select “Start”, “Run”, “Browse”, browse for “Setup.exe” inside the extracted folder.
    4. Accept all default settings.
    5. Do not start the application at the tim

3. Download Bentley IEG

Use the same procedure above to download Bentley IEG 02.00.20.01 - download here.

4. Install Bentley IEG

This is a separate install and is required 

IEG must be installed by user with Admin privileges and cannot be pushed over a network connection. Please confirm you are logged on as an admin user, do not assume

    1. Un-install any previously installed version of Bentley IEG License Service from Control Panels 'Add or Remove Programs'
    2. Select “Start” , “Run”, “Browse”; open the folder where you downloaded the application too or insert the CD and run “iegls02002001en.msi” to start the installation process.
    3. Verify that the application installed, Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs> Bentley IEG should be listed.
    4. If was not installed, means that the application was only unzipped to the computer system; to complete the installation goto C:\BentleyDownloads\ieg02002001en and run the iegls02002001en.msi application.
    5. After installation, the computer should be rebooted.

5. Set-up License

PlantFLOW is no longer eligible for subscription renewal or placement on a contract that supports pooled licensing because it has been deprecated. Only a Cancelation Node lock license that is tied to a specific machine by its name can be used to license the product. If you need a Cancelation Node Lock License, please get in touch with your Bentley Salesperson or Bentley Contracts / Renewal department. For the duration of the quarter, this kind of license will only work on one computer.

Select Server and License Management Tool instructions:   

    1. File > Open License Management Tool by using one of the following methods:
    2. Start PlantFLOW, select PlantFLOW Demo button, Select Tools> Settings> License Management Tool.
      1. Open windows run utility, Start> Run> type “licensetool” and press OK button.
      2. Search your entire hard drive for “ Licensetool.exe”
    3. Verify PlantFLOW licenses  are listed on the License Checkout screen and at least 1 license is available for check out.



      Note: Can I restrict license usage to checkouts only?

      If not, verify the Server Name and Site Activation Key, Tools> Options> press the test connection button. Should see the following. If not, Contact Bentley Licensing group.

6. Start PlantFLOW software

    1.  If the following appears when trying to stat PlantFLOw, please go back to step #4 above and install Bentley IEG software.
              
    2. Select the PlantFLOW program icon from:
      Start> Program> Bentley Engineering> PlantFLOW V8i > PlantFLOW V8i
    3. The Welcome to PlantFLOW screen will appear.
             
    4. Select the version button listed on your contract:  PlantFLOW Standard or PlantFLOW Plus
    5. If licensing was correctly installed, the application is now checking for an available license to check out from the License Management Tool.

      If a valid license has been located, the “Welcome to PlantFLOW 6.2” screen disappears and the application is ready for use.
    6. Verify application is not in DEMO mode by inspecting the top of the application bar. The specified licensed version name should appear in the applications bar at the top of the application window.
