    Item #1:

    What file formats can AutoPIPE Vessel export?

    Answer:

    AutoPIPE Vessel can save a model as different file types using:

    1. File > Save AS> command:

    a. AutoPIPE Vessel Data (*.emvd)

    b. AutoPIPE Vessel Project specification (*.empd)

    The data concerning the geometry of the nozzle and the geometrical element on which the nozzle is welded are transmitted to Nozzle Pro (which is a software from Paulin and must be installed on the computer).

    Item #2:

    How to export AutoPIPE Vessel models to CAD softwares? What CAD softwares are available for exporting from AutoPIPE Vessel?

    Answer:

    AutoPIPE Vessel models can be exported to Microstation, SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D and 3D file formats.

    To set the CAD output preference, go to menu File, then click on Preference and from the drop down under CAD Software Name select the approriate software :

    For example, if you want to export to SolidWorks 2014 V 64 bits, select that from the dropdown list:

    Open the tab "Set Default Data" and select the option "Create 3D drawing" and click OK.

    Complete the design and run the analysis. After the analysis is complete, click on the Drawing Generation icon;

    The "Drawing" dialog box appears.  Make sure that the Generic File Name shows the intended file path to save the generated SolidWorks files. Click OK.

    The SolidWorks file export should now be complete.
