The following message appears when inserting a valve as the first component of a new segment or when modeling in AutoPIPE:
---------------------------Error--------------------------- E38-95: Cannot insert component after a tee. Try inserting a pipe run point after tee equal in length to the tee leg. Then insert component after that run point. ---------------------------OK ---------------------------
How can I fix this and a void this error message?
1. Insert a run
2. Insert a new segment, press OK button.
3. Insert a Valve component as the first component of the new segment, the moment on initiang the Insert> Valve command the error screen above appears.
A valve, reducer, or other components cannot be the first item of a new segment. The avoidance is to insert a short run or continue the exiting segment making modifications to the piping material as needed.
The model has a material specification break on a pipe run, from stainless steel to carbon steel, between a carbon steel pipe flange and a stainless steel valve flange. My plan was to inserted the CS pipe flange on the existing segment, then I inserted a new segment with a SS valve as the first component. However when I try to insert a Valve as the first component, the error message above appears. :
Solution:
a. Insert CS flange.
b. Do not insert a new segment, continue inserting the next component on the current segment, flanged valve, etc.
c. Go back Select / Highlight all the piping that is suppose to be a different material, use "Modify Pipe Properties Over Range" command to change the pipe properties to one with the correct material specifications.
