The following is entered when I insert a new pipe run in AutoPIPE:
---------------------------Warning--------------------------- W754-1: Sweep angle is 180 degrees---------------------------OK ---------------------------
How do I resolve this issue so the warning does not display?
This issues is caused by the next pipe run entered created a kink in the pipe equal to the indicated angle in the message (ex. 180 degrees). Keep in mind when modeling in AutoPIPE that segments of piping are built from the established origin point and progresses to the next point based on an delta offset from the previous point. This sequence of node points must always progress in some direction but cannot go back in the same as from where it originated.
1. Insert New segment, start point (A00) : DX= 0.00, Dy=0.00, Dz=0.00
2. Insert pipe run (A01), Dx = 5.00 ft
3. Insert pipe run (A02), Dx = -3.00 ft. press OK button and Warning above appears.
This will also add the following warning to your model input listing report:
W726-8: Kink in straight run of 179.9 deg at point XXX
Based on the example above,
a. insert pipe run in any direction but back in the same direction as the original pipe axis (ex. Dx = +3.00 ft)
In order to insert a new node point between A00 and A01, ex. 2.00 ft from A00, use the following procedure:
a. Place cursor at node point A00 to make it the current node point.
b. Select insert Pipe Run command, Length = 2.00 ft. and press OK. Notice the node point sequence in the Input grid, A02 is between A00 and A01.
c. In order to continue adding more piping to this segment, first make node point A01 the current node point. Remember the next node point is always built upon the offset distance from the previous node point.
In order to insert a new node point between A00 and A01, ex. 3.00 ft from A01, use the following procedure:
a. Place cursor at node point A01 to make it the current node point.
b. Select insert Pipe Run command, on the dialog change the "Add point Before/ After " = Before. Next enter Length = 3.00 ft. (do not change the value of DX as it is automatically adjusted after entering the length). and press OK. Results in same image shown above for option #2.
