How to model Corroded PIpe or Spot corrosion?:
Question: Does AutoPIPE offer a function or upgrade that will analyze corroded pipe with the following user information: a. Corrosion network sizesb. Longitudinal and rotational positionsc. Minimum wall thickness at pit depths
The following enhancement has been logged: CAE-CR-10121, Add ASME B31G: Remaining Strength of Corroded pipeline.
Until this enhancement has been added to the program the only modeling approach available would be to model the ping in AutoPIPE and specify a Corrosion Allowance, found on the Pipe Properties dialog for each material associated with the corroded pipe. In addition, be sure to adjust the following Tool> Model Option settings;
Results model options:
A. Use nominal thickness - disable check box
B. Use nom. thk. for Hoop - disable check box
Edit model options:
A. Use nom. thk. for Hoop - disable check box
Refer to AutoPIPE help for details on these features and how they affect specific results.
