Problem:

Gasket and Bolt Calculation, what is DL?

 How is DL calculated?

Answer:

In AutoPIPE Vessel the gasket may be defined on the Body Flange and Cover Properties dialog screen , Gasket Tab, as follow:

Help for the field "Inner/Outer Width" for the Centering and/or Compression Ring indicates:

For this type of gaskets, as shown in French code, "G" is the external contact diameter of gasket with the flange. Therefore, "DL" is the external diameter of the gasket.
To obtain "DL", input the value of "Inner/Outer Width" in the dialog for gaskets dimensions.

In the abstract of the calculation report above:
G = 1009 mm,

DL= 1109 mm [Inner/Outer Width = 50 mm Ò G + (2x50)]

H = 0.785 x 10092 x 1.6 = 1279358 N
Hp = 0.785 x (11092 - 10092)x 1.6 = 266156 N
