    17. Drawing Customization – Adding Views in a Sheet using AutoPIPE Vessel

    Answer:

    1. From AutoPIPE Vessel, select Execute > Manage Customization Files to display the Customizable Files Management dialog.
    2. Within the Set Drawing Layout group-box, press Set Drawing layout and move to production to display the Set Drawing Layout dialog.


    3. Select File > Open to display the Open a view file dialog.
    4. Navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Config\ Vueaux.emav file, then press Open.
    5. From the Set Drawing Layout dialog, select Sheet layout to display the Sheet Layout dialog.
    6. Select the following values:

    • Vessel Type: Pressure Vessel
    • Vessel Orientation: Horizontal
    • Chambers: 1 Chamber
    • Format: A0

    7. Press Remove sheet for all existing sheets.
    8. Press Add sheet.
    9. Press OK.


    The Available list displays all available views for this Vessel type.
    The Set list displays all selected views.
    The Transfer to Set button transfers a new view in the sheet.
    The Transfer to Available button transfers the view selected in the sheet to the Available list.

    10. Transfer WE, WI, VG, M1, M2, M3, W0, W1 (from the Available list) to the Set list.
    11. Move the WE, WI, VG, M1, M2, M3, W0, W1 views onto the sheet as shown below:


    12. Select File > Save.
    13. Press Yes when the Do you want to replace this file? dialog displays.
    14. From AutoPIPE Vessel, select File > Open to display the Open dialog.
    15. Navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Examples\VesselData\Horizontal\ VesselOnSaddle BS pd5500.emvd file, then press Open.


    16. Select Execute > Generate Drawing to display the Drawing dialog.
    17. Press OK.
    18. Close AutoPIPE Vessel (but do not exit).
    19. Open the C:\Users\Public\Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Examples\VesselData\Horizontal\ VesselOnSaddle BS PD5500.dgn 2D drawing.

    20. Notice there is one fixed Saddle and one Sliding Saddle. Close the drawing because it will be in use the next time.
    21. Return to AutoPIPE Vessel and insert a third saddle on the model, then select Execute > Calculate Strength.

    22. Select Execute > Generate Drawing to display the Drawing dialog.
    23. Press OK.
    24. Open the C:\Users\Public\Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Examples\VesselData\Horizontal\VesselOnSaddle BS PD5500.dgn 2D drawing.

    25. Notice there are now one fixed Saddle and two identical Sliding Saddles. Close the drawing because it will be in use the next time.
    26. Modify the third Saddle with a Web thickness = 25 mm.

    27. You now have one fixed Saddle and two different sliding Saddles.
    28. Select Execute > Calculate Strength.
    29. Select Execute > Generate Drawing to display the Drawing dialog.
    30. Press OK.
    31. When generating the 2D drawing, AutoPIPE Vessel displays the following dialog:

    32. AutoPIPE Vessel indicates that a view for the third Saddle W2 is missing. Return to the Set Drawing Layout dialog.
    33. In Sheet #1, Add a new view W2 as shown below:

    34. Select File > Save.
    35. Return to AutoPIPE Vessel and select Execute > Generate Drawing to display the Drawing dialog.
    36. Press OK.
    37. Open the C:\Users\Public\Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Examples\VesselData\Horizontal\VesselOnSaddle BS PD5500.dgn 2D drawing.

    38. Notice there are now one fixed Saddle and two different sliding Saddles.
    39. AutoPIPE Vessel checks if all views are placed in the sheets for:
