Problem:

When using the Edit> Segment> Reorder segment feature the following may appear:

---------------------------
Confirm
---------------------------
Please note that renumber point does not update points in
 external loading files.
Are you sure you want to continue?
---------------------------
Yes   No   Cancel
---------------------------

What does this mean?

Solution:

When reordering the segments, every node point in the model affected by this feature may have a new node point name. This command will only pdate the internal database and not any external load files (i.e Time history, Response Spectrum, etc..).

Example: Model is open and a Fluid transient is performed from node points M01 to M125 thus creating corresponding TIH and THL files. Next the user imports another model and decides that the segment order needs to be changed. The reorder command will update the internal node points according to the settings in the feature dialog. In this example, nodes M01 to M125 were changed to L01 to L125. If the analysis was performed, the Time history would try to apply the original THL / TIL files to the original node point which may or may not exist.

Therefore, this warning is posted to hereby cautioned / reminded what this feature will and will not do. In this example the user will have to go and re-run the fluid transient using he updated node numbers.
