When running a given API 650 model in AutoPIPE Nozzle, the results were as shown below:
However, they now are calculated as shown below
Notice that the Longitudinal Moment and the Circumferential Moment are now 0.00, Why?
The reason is that the program only calculates loads if forces / moments values exist. It does not change or refresh values in case forces / moments are zero. However, It should clear and refresh previous values so that they should not appear again incorrectly.
This might be the case due to which limiting loads displayed in said report.
1) Create new API 650, with all loads = 0.00 on the Load Tab.2) Analyze and generate report – notice API 650 limiting loads (radial, longitudinal, circumferential) are all zero3) Enter some values in following forces & moments fields for GR load case in Loads tab:
Fx value is needed to calculate the API 650 "Radial Load" limit load
My value is needed to calculate the API 650 "Circumferential Moment" limit load
Mz value is needed to calculate the API 650 "Longitudinal Moment" limit load
4) Analyze and generate report – notice API 650 limiting loads values appear5) Now reset all forces/moments to zero as was in the beginning6) Analyze and generate report – notice that limiting loads still coming up.
Actually program does not refresh/update Loads and Moments and displayed previous calculated values which are no more valid if forces and moments are zero.
This has been logged under TFS-D225159: Program does not update API 650 limiting loads in Detail Stresses report when Forces and Moments are zero.
