Stress isometric drawing are blank or not created when using AutoPIPE Advanced or Nuclear versions, why?
There could be a number of reasons why this would happen, check the following:
There was no piping in the model or all piping was hidden from the current viewing angle. Use procedure here to create a Stress Isometric. The first step would be to Zoom model's extents, Zoom window on displayed piping, or select a range of piping to be exported. AutoPIPE only creates isometrics based on displayed / selected piping components in the model. Beams are not exported to a Stress Isometric.
The wrong version of AutoPIPE is being used.
Only AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.02.xx and higher has the Stress Isometric feature incorporated into the application and does not require any additional licenses. However, only by using an AutoPIPE Advance or AutoPIPE Nuclear Edition enabled version of the program can a Stress Isometric be created:
The following must be set correctly:
There is no piping range selected before starting the Save Stress Isometric command.
On the Stress isometric dialog is a setting "Use Selected Range", if this option is enabled and NO highlighted selection has been made in the model than the program will produce a blank drawing.
Workaround:
a. Make a selection set in the model, and enable this option
or
b. Disable this feature to export the entire model to a Stress Isometric.
Note: If table are missing be sure that the Data Tables option is also checked on this dialog.
Save Stress Isometric hangs if executed for model on a network path. This was only an issue with AutoPIPE v.9.3 and lower and has since then it has been fixed. However to rule out network location and data traffic.
Try this:
1. Create a new folder on the desktop that uses only typical ASCII character in the filepath.
2. Copy model to folder and try to create a stress iso from this new folder location
Perform an Consistency Check (Analysis > Model Validation > Consistency Check), and the following was reported:
W726-170:The tee at point XXX has only two legs defined
Take the time to fix all reported tees by using avoidance here.before trying to create a Stress Isometric
W726-8: Kink in straight run of 179.9 deg at point
Take the time to fix all reported overlaps by using avoidance here.before trying to create a Stress Isometric
1. Go to Segment tab on Input Grid
2. Copy entire grids to MS Excel
3. Search Line number column for "\n", note location of all occurrences.
3. Back on AutoPIPE's Segment tab of the input grids, In column Line Number, locate first occurrence found in Excel on corresponding rows in the grids.
4. Highlight all text in grid's cell, remove all text, and manually re-enter the line number.
When AutoPIPE
For some unknown reason the program is not creating a Stress Isometric.
1. Open Isoextractor drawing folder:
"C:\ ProgramData\ Bentley\AutoPIPE CONNECT\ isoextractor\ projects\ project01\ stress\ dgn"
Note: path may be slightly different for other editions, but try and find the DGN folder in the STRESS folder
2. Delete all files from DGN folder location (these are temporary files and do not affect the program behavior)
3. Arrange and size program windows to view both this Folder location above and use AutoPIPE at the same time.
4. In AutoPIPE, launch the stress isometric process from File->Save Stress Isometric command. After starting this process watch the DGN folder indicated above, In a moment one should see files temporarily appear and then disappear.
a. Did any file appear and disappear in this folder?
If Yes, great!! that is what is suppose to happen, check the AutoPIPE model folder location for new drawing files.
If No, go to step b below.
b. Refresh the DGN folder, are the any file(s) in the folder?
If Yes,
If there are drawing files in this DGN folder some errors have occurred in the model which leads to incorrect naming of files, a wrongly named file may stay in the DGN folder and will not be copied back to the model directory. Files in this DGN folder can be opened and checked by an isometric viewer. Regardless, please see steps below to send all files for review.
If No,
i. Check in the model directory if modelname.PCF file is generated, send file for review
II. Check in the model directory if modelname.APISO file is generated, send file for review.
Please see the following WIKI page here with instructions to create a AutoPIPE archive APC file, create an Bentley Service Request (SR), attach a ZIP file containing an APC file and other requested files mentioned above, and send for review.
Only after receiving this all this information can an investigation be started.
