    Q. I am designing based on GOST code where I have entered a nozzle joint efficiency of 0.9 but in the report the joint efficiency is considered as 1. When I run the same model changing the design code to ASME, the report shows joint efficiency=0.9, Why?

    Ans: The setting for the nozzle joint efficiency in question is as follows in the nozzle dialog box:

     

    As shown above the joint efficiency has been set as 0.9.

    In the report it is 1.0:

    This is because ASME and GOST have different rules with respect to nozzle joint efficiency. See the paragraph from GOST below:

    Hence following the rule above the value has been set as 1. in the report even though it is stated by the user as 0.9 in the nozzle dialog box.
