Question #1, What Will happen if Segment D direction was as shown below in the AutoPIPE Model, where would the offset occur when modifying a node point location using the Input grids?
Modify node point B02 length from 3.00 ft to 5.00 ft, what will happen? which of the 4 intersections below will or will not be affected and why?
After making the modification, select Tools> Model Consistency Check Report> wait for the report to be displayed. Note the W726-35 warning:
* * * W A R N I N G - MODEL * * * W726-34: Inconsistent coordinates were reset at following point(s)
D04
Now that the graphics have been reset, look again at the AutoPIPE model.
Question, Why did this happen at this location and not somewhere else?
Answer: Ah that is an easy one, Because of the model configuration with the segment directions.
Detailed Answer: the node point modification was made on the input grid where it is automatically assumed that the "Apply offsets to all following points" option is enabled.
If that is true, then all points downstream of B02 will be affected by an additional 2.00 ft offset in the +X-axis direction. Ok now from the image below, note the segment directions and keep in mind that the model is created based on Delta offset from the origin point progressing to the end of the segment. Using simple logic, the following is determined:
