    Problem:

Why are the Stress results for ASME B31.8 0.00 in AutoPIPE output report?

    Example:

    Solution:

Scroll over to the right in the grids to see the Combined column:

The combined column provides the Hydrotest operating condition stresses results in addition the calculated Allowable and Ratio values.

Same goes for the Output report,

Question: But why are the hoop stress results grid value = 0.00 and only shown for those points where the Piping Stress Equation is set to "Unrestrained"??

    Answer:

Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:

Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Reference Information> Code Compliance Calculations> ASME B31.8 - (2014)> Hoop Stress> see note at the bottom of the page,

    Copied from help:

"Note: The Hoop stress for restrained piping combinations e.g. GRTP1 can be viewed...."

Note: On the Piping Restraint tab of the input grids one can always select which Stress Equation to use or there is an option to print both.
