Problem:

Local Axis system load values do not appear to match WRC Axis system values in AutoPIPE nozzle output report?

Solution:

AutoPIPE Nozzle output reported values are correct.

Note the images that show the axis directions, confirm axis directions to be:

Thus:

Note that the forces are straight forward but the Moments are a little more involved to understand. Let us look at the following example of the X-axis moment.

Example #1: X-Axis moment

See WRC107 Axis vs Global axis

a. Look at the Global X-Axis = -X point vertical Up

b. using right hand rule, and looking at the axis from the arrow end, understand that the moment is rotating in a CCW (Counter Clock Wise direction) about the -X axis.

c. Per WRC 107 axis, flip your right hand in the direction of the +Radial, P direction, Vertically down, while still looking at the moment direction from the same point of view as above, tail end, now the moment direction about the X axis direction are CW (clockwise)

Therefore the Radial,P moments are -(global Axis).

OR, Global MX moments (+5005) = -ve WRC107 Radial, P = - (+5005) = -5005.

Example #2: Y-Axis moment

 Using the same image above

a. Look at the Global Y-Axis = -Y point towards the nozzle.

b. In order to match the moment and pointing in the +Y axis direction must use Left hand rule

c. Again,  looking at the axis from the +Y axis end point arrow end, understand that the moment is rotating in a CW (Clockwise direction) about the +Y axis.

c. Per WRC 107 axis, flip your left hand in the +VC axis direction, towards the nozzle, while still looking at the moment direction from the same point of view as above, tail end, now the moment direction about the Y axis direction are CCW (Counter Clockwise)

Therefore the VC moments are -(global Axis).

OR, Global MY moments (+4913) = -ve WRC107 VC = - (+4913) = -4913.

Example #3: X-Axis moment

 Using the same image above

a. Look at the Global Z-Axis = +Z shell axis pointing away from the nozzle.

b. In order to match the moment and pointing in the +Z axis direction must use Right hand rule

c. Again,  looking at the axis from the +Z axis arrow end, understand that the moment is rotating in a CCW (Counter Clockwise direction) about the +Z axis.

c. Per WRC 107 axis, flip your left hand in the +VL axis direction, towards the nozzle, while still looking at the moment direction from the same point of view as above, tail end, now the moment direction about the Z axis are CW (Clockwise)

Therefore the VC moments are -(global Axis).

OR, Global MZ moments -() = -ve WRC107 VC = - (+4913) = -4913.

Confirmation that AutoPIPE Nozzle's output reported values in sections 4 and 5 are correctly displayed.
