    04. PipeLINK file inserted into AutoPIPE model does not automatically attach supports, "Review Support Connection", grayed out, why?

    Problem:

After importing the Pipelink file it does not automatically attach the supports., why? Also notice on the imported PipeLINK dialog that the Review Support Connection" was grayed out. Why?

    Solution:

AutoPIPE does not provide automatic support connections when importing pipelink model from STAAD.

For doing this operation manually select the supports and then use 'Modify> Support Connections' command.

'Review Support Connections' option is available only when there are any changes to support connections after re-importing a model from STAAD. Following scenario can be considered as an example:

    1. User creates AP_Model.dat in AutoPIPE with some supports and exports in in a file AP_Model.pipelink
    2. User creates ST_Model.std in STAAD and imports the pipelink file in step 1 (AP_Model.pipelink)
    3. User updates the support connections in STAAD and export is in a pipelink file AP_Model2.pipelink
    4. User imports AP_Mode2.pipelink file in AutoPIPE

Here in the last step the support connections have been changed by STAAD in the exported pipelink file. This will enable the 'Review Support connections' dialog and user has option to imported the altered support connections in the dialog.

Again, for some pipelink files they may lack piping information which means that there were no updates in piping support connections in STAAD therefore the option to "Review Support Connections" is disabled.
