Can we reduce the thickness of line. Some dimensions are not visible.Every time we need to scale up in autocad
No issue about the thickness of lines in AutoCAD.
1) Display options
Tab “Home”
Menu “Layer Properties”
Every layer has a color. The color defines the thickness used in the layer
All layers have a lineweight = Default ( System variable = LWDEFAULT )
Menu “Options…”
Select Tab “User Preferences”
Click the button “Lineweight Settings…”
By default, the thickness is 0.25 mm
The option “Display Lineweight” is unchecked ( No thickness in the display )
If you check the option “Display Lineweight”
Click the button “Apply & Close”
Click the button “Apply”
Now all lines have the thickness 0.25 mm.
Some dimensions are not visible.
2) Print/plot a drawing
Every layer has a color. The color defines the thickness used in the layer.
Yellow color Plot Style = Color_2 Thin thickness = 0.15 mm
Red color Plot Style = Color_1 Medium thickness = 0.3 mm
White color Plot Style = Color_7 Heavy thickness = 0.5 mm
Green color Plot Style = Color_3 Thin thickness (Drawn dimension) = 0.15 mm
You want to print the “FORMAT_001” sheet.
If message “Batch Plot” then click on “Continue to plot a single sheet”
Select a Printer/Plotter and a Plot Style Table
If you click on the button “Preview…”
The same thickness in all layers.
The results are not satisfactory.
If you click on the button “Plot Style Table…”
Color 1 Lineweight = Use object lineweight
Color 2 Lineweight = Use object lineweight
Color 3 Lineweight = Use object lineweight
Color 7 Lineweight = Use object lineweight
You have to change the line weight for some colors.
Color 1 Lineweight = 0.3 mm Medium thickness
Color 2 Lineweight = 0.15 mm Thin thickness
Color 3 Lineweight = 0.15 mm Thin thickness ( Drawn dimension )
Color 7 Lineweight = 0.5 mm Heavy thickness
Click the button “Save & Close” to save the file “acad.ctb”
In every layer, the thickness is different.
The thicknesses are the same for a little sheet (A4) and a big sheet (A0).
The results are not always satisfactory.
Check the button “Scale lineweights”
