Why are hoop stresses 0.00 in AutoPIPE?
One or more of the following may be affecting the results displayed in the Results Grids or on the Output Reports:
1. Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Reference Information> Code Compliance Calculations> select respectve piping code and year from the list provided. See Hoop subsection,
Example: ASME B31.1 (2014)
See equation to calculate hoop and Hoop allowable. Confirm all variables in AutoPIPE are correct and non zero.
2. Known issue, Allowable stress for Hoop category combinations may be displayed as zero because of an invalid Longitudinal weld factor value.
Avoidance: Regardless of the current value, re-enter the "Long Weld E fact" either on the Pipe Properties dialog or on the Pipe Properties input grids. Again all Weld E factors must be updated for each pipe property in the model. .
A new enhancement has been added to a future version of AutoPIPE to report when Weld E factor = 0.00 (TFS-D495144).
