The following warning message appears in AutoPIPE when trying to create a Force Spectrum file, why?
---------------------------Warning--------------------------- W173-9: First 100 points from history will be used---------------------------OK ---------------------------
As the message explains, when trying to create a Force Spectrum using AutoPIPE's "Convert to Force Spectrum "command only the first 100 pairs of Time History Profile (TIH) file will be used to crate the Force Spectrum (SPC) file.
Currently AutoPIPE allows up to 10,000 time and A/G/F/D data pairs for input in the TIH external ASCII text file for use in the Time History analysis. However, as mentioned above, only the first 100 data pairs of that file are incorporated into creating the Force Spectrum file using the Duhemal's integration method. In the end, a Force Spectrum file is created that will contain 50 data pairs.
Notes:
1. Force Spectrum are meant for short duration load,: Water hammer, Relief valve blow down, etc.
2. Time History analysis provides a more accurate solution of the system response than spectrum analysis.
